What are your personal fitness goals?

I would like to enter fitness Bikini comp this year or next ,dependent on Corona and how much it affects the competing of individuals gathering.

How will you use your #BiogenFaceOfFitness ambassadorship to inspire women to lead a healthy / fit lifestyle if you win?

I am a working mom of two beautiful boys, Alex and Jordan. They are my biggest motivation! I am studying towards my HR degree via DUT and I work full time at CCI South Africa . One of the biggest call centers in Durban.

I started about 2 years ago on my fitness journey . My coach and mentor Roberta Pretorius , a former finalist in the Face of Fitness has been my driving force and inspiration towards achieving this dream. Since joining Prefit I have met so many moms . Women ask me about my daily workouts , motivation and tips on how they could join me or work out from home.

I would like to use this platform to further inspire women who are struggling to start their own  journey of fitness and daily lifestyle of living healthy, mentally and physically. I truly believe women want to see ordinary moms or working , studying women achieve their goal results.

What health and fitness quote or mantra do you live by?

“Healthy mind means a healthy life.” With so much negativity in the world and the pressures of life, fitness gives me an escape from this. By finding the balance of life, studies and work, my kids have a healthier, happy mommy.

Tell us about your fitness lifestyle

I train 3 to 4 times a week mornings or afternoons . I train in my local area with a team of motivated individuals. The group is called RS6. It is a bootcamp and intense form of fitness. Having no access to a gym will not limit me on achieving my goals. I also jog in Umhlanga ,at the Lighthouse walkway, every Saturday morning with a group of women from our prefit team.

My health plan is set out by my mentor and coach Roberta Pretorius and consists of a balance of protein,water and a small portion of healthy carbs.

I never want to look too skinny or under-nourished. I love it when a woman still has curves and looks feminine. Your everyday women should be able to achieve the fitness goal.

Why do you think you’re the Biogen Face of Fitness?

I never ever thought I would be one of those women who are a fitness freak or fanatic. Two years ago watching my best friend, mentor and coach achieving her goals, made me believe in myself. 

I believed I could do it and I still do. It was as if a switch went on in my head and once my mind was right, the rest fell in line. 

My discipline and motivation automatically become my lifestyle. Eating right, waking up early to reach my goal. Once I started nothing could stop me. I am happier, healthier and a better mom because of this. 

I believe this is the starting point to an incredible path of enriching and empowering other women, moms and or working moms. I want to be the change they need . I want to be the sunshine on a cloudy day. I want to be there, to say “if i can do it. So can u!”

I have grown up in a neighbourhood with women and young girls who think that where they live or how they grew up, determines their outcome. I could not disagree more with this statement. I want women from my community to believe in themselves and their dreams. I would also love to see a coloured woman on the cover or become the Face of Fitness this year. I believe I can be a great motivator for so many young moms, single women, married women and working studying moms.
