What are your personal fitness goals?
My fitness goal is to have a toned physique and to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
How will you use your #BiogenFaceOfFitness ambassadorship to inspire women to lead a healthy / fit lifestyle if you win?
Firstly I will lead by example, I believe that the best way to motivate or inspire someone is to share your journey with them, being as authentic as you can be in showing them what it took for you to achieve your goals, or the steps that you are taking towards achieving your fitness goal.
Most importantly I will get clear about the importance of fitness and help women find their “why”, as I believe that when a goal is personal, that’s when people are more likely to take the necessary steps into achieving it.
I will listen to them and use the knowledge acquired through my fitness journey and the Biogen Face of Fitness as suggestions in order to motivate them.
Lastly I will be a support structure for them, from sharing workout routines, a healthy recipe, answering any questions, or offer to go to the gym with them if possible as I believe that the practical way to help someone achieve real progress is to actually do it with them. During times when I had a personal trainer, I learned that mutual support and accountability are powerful ways to keep someone’s momentum fired up over time.

Tell us about your fitness lifestyle
My fitness lifestyle starts in the kitchen, as the saying goes “you are what you eat”. I pay attention to what I eat and try my best to ensure that my meals have a combination of healthy fats, protein and carbs, as well as reasonable portions. I believe that nutrition plays a big role in my health, so it is important for me to eat healthy so that my body can stay nourished.
It’s actually the little habits that make up my fitness lifestyle, habits like drinking a lot of water in order to stay hydrated, ensuring that I do not skip breakfast, making sure I sleep well for at least 7 to 8 hours and investing in consistent exercise.
Before the lockdown I would exercise 3 to 4 times a week for at least an hour before or after work, depending on my shift. Since the lockdown has started, I have had all the time to exercise, so my routine has changed to working out 5 times a week.
My workout routine consists of a combination of cardio, HIIT and strength training. I usually go to the gym at Planet Fitness but with gyms being currently closed I have been working out at home.
My fitness journey started on the 5th of August 2019. As a person who is still new to the fitness industry, I have not mastered everything as yet, I am still trying to find out what works for me and my body, and also learn new healthy ways to prepare food that I like and enjoy. I also rely on my smartphone to google more information about healthy meals and workout plans and I sometimes browse through social media for inspiration and motivation. I understand that everyone is different therefore I do not compare myself to others, instead I am patient with myself and I always leave room to make mistakes and learn from them in order to improve and grow. I simply believe in myself, trust the process, and also do my best to enjoy my fitness journey.
Why do you think you’re the Biogen Face of Fitness?
I am the Biogen Face of Fitness because I am relatable and I aim to motivate and inspire.
Fitness has changed my life, it was through the darkest time of my life that it came to the rescue. When stress and the demand of life takes over, exercise has always come to my rescue and I always find myself feeling better after a workout.
I started training consistently 12 months ago and since then I feel more confident and comfortable in my own skin. I am more self aware and able to embrace my flaws, I have found new courage to go even harder on my goals and I am grounded.
I believe that being healthy means being mentally, emotionally and physically fit, therefore feeling good about yourself and taking care of your health is very important, it’s simply self love.
I grew up in a village called Timbavati trust in Bushbuckridge, Mpumalanga. As a person who comes from humble beginnings, If given this opportunity, my aim is to have a positive impact in other people’s lives through sharing my fitness journey. I want to inspire and motivate people who come from forgotten parts of the world and remind them that where they come from does not define who they are, Also show them that maintaining a healthy lifestyle can boost your self esteem, help you take charge of your life, and empower you to change your life for the better.
