I am self-employed and started my business The Virtual Dragonfly as a Virtual Assistant last year. My business has grown and has created many opportunities that I could not be more grateful for. I am also currently working towards creating more awareness around gender-based violence and the effect it has in our country. I am becoming a director of an NPO to give more back to the community. I have lost over 20kg thus far. I am working with a trainer to be able to achieve my goals within the next year. I believe I could inspire more people to be active and to love their bodies each and every step of the way. Being active is so important. I also teach kids and some cannot even touch their toes. I want to inspire people to work on themselves every day and to be comfortable in their own skin, their own journey, and to love every minute of it.

How does fitness fit into your lifestyle?
Fitness has become a huge part of who I am. When I was a child I was extremely active in all school sports and karate. When I finished school, my fitness was focused around pole fitness. I had knee surgery (MPFL reconstruction) and I gained a lot of weight. In 2018 I started my weight loss journey and was nearly 80kg. I am currently 54kg. I have also gone back to karate over the last year and have joined a trainer to assist me in further reducing my fat percentage and achieving my goals of achieving my next black belt and representing South Africa. Even though I do karate, I also do yoga, aerial silks, pole dancing, and remain as active as I possibly can.
What are your personal fitness goals?
One of my goals is to be a part of the South African team that will represent South Africa at the Goju Kai Karate World Champions in Japan next year. A second goal that I have is to walk onto the stage at a bodybuilding competition. I also have small goals in terms of what I would like my body to be able to do.
